College Square is owned and managed by CBL & Associates. It features approximately 70 stores and restaurants including Carmike College Square Cinemas 9. A new movie theater is under construction at the mall, on part of the southern parking lot. The old cinema will be converted into "specialty stores."
Opened in 1988, College Square is the only shopping mall in an eight-county area of East Tennessee. University Mall is located in one of Tuscaloosa's retail areas. Nearby retail properties include free-standing SuperTarget and Home Depot stores, McFarland Plaza (formerly known as Bama Mall), an open-air mall anchored by Stein Mart and Old Navy, and many free-standing restaurants and shops. The Mall at Barnes Crossing is a regional shopping mall located northeast of downtown Tupelo, Mississippi. David Hocker & Associates also manages an outdoor strip shopping center called Market Center to the east of the mall, between two major entrances. Foothills Mall is an indoor regional shopping mall located in Maryville, Tennessee, a suburb of Knoxville. Foothills Mall features approximately 70 stores and restaurants. Adjacent to the mall is the Foothills Plaza complex which includes several additional restaurants and a cineplex with 8 screens.
Opened in 1983, Foothills Mall is the only shopping mall in burgeoning suburban Blount County, part of the Knoxville Metropolitan Area. The mall was originally anchored by Maryville based Proffitt's, a regional department store; Miller's, another regional department store that was a division of Allied Stores; JC Penney; and Sears. Proffitt's and Miller's no longer exist, and their store spaces are now used by Belk. Recently, the mall had added several additional stores, including TJ Maxx and Goody's Family Clothing. Source
