The Waco Cultural Arts Fest is a 501©3 non-profit corporation created to promote multicultural events for Waco and surrounding Central Texas communities celebrating diversity and fostering greater understanding of cultural differences through the arts. Art and music touch the heart, fire the imagination and draw people together. The Waco Cultural Arts Fest aims to honor art education and the art community through this two day festival of art, music, performance, food and arts activities for all ages.

November - By the time of the Festival, winter has typically begun in Haines. Conditions can include cold temperatures, wind, snow and/or rain, so you'll want to come prepared with appropriate clothing. We recommend dressing in layers with thermal or polypropylene underwear, a wool or fleece middle layer, and a waterproof/windproof outer layer. Warm gloves, hats with ear protection, and warm waterproof boots are essential. Although you might wish to dress up for Sheldon Museum's annual fundraiser, Eagle Elegance, casual clothing is acceptable for all indoor events.

Over the course of twenty-five years the K-300 has become the highest regarded mid-distance dog sled race in the world. The race annually attracts the top mushers in the world.

As in the past, we will start the festivities in Seligman on Friday with registration, music, entertainment, and checking out the sights of Seligman. Saturday morning the vehicles will start to line up in preparation for the start of the FUN RUN to Kingman. Since this is not a timed event please feel free to stop along the way to enjoy refreshments, western dance, sample the Hualapai Tribe BBQ and check out the other vehicles as they cruise by.

The Underwear Run is a 1.7 mile fun run that takes place in Central Park every year on the Friday before the Aquaphor New York City Triathlon. No transitions, no timing chips, no expensive race gear, just 500 strangers running around in their underwear. Another typical summer evening in New York City!! The 2012 "Celebrate America" Underwear Run wants all participants to dress as patriotic as possible! Get your George Washington and Lady Liberty on... in underwear!

Producing a variety of arts and entertainment events on Staten Island. Modeled on the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s River to River Festival project, producing and supporting a variety of public events featuring exhibits by local artists and performances by emerging musicians and other entertainers. Environmental education and children’s activities within some of these events, as well as a marketplace for artists, craftspeople & businesses to showcase and sell their products and services.
Many of our events are held in underserved communities, and all are designed to make Staten Island a better place to live, work & play.

On Oct. 4, 1895, the first U.S. Open Championship was conducted by the United States Golf Association on the nine-hole course of Newport (R.I.) Golf and Country Club. The first U.S. Open was considered something of a sideshow to the first U.S. Amateur, which was played on the same course and during the same week. Both championships had been scheduled for September but were postponed because of a conflict with a more established Newport sports spectacle, the America’s Cup yacht races.

The Fifty Year Club of the Ohio State Fair is an organization that holds an annual meeting during the fair. The objective of the group is to support, improve , and promote the Ohio State Fair and develop fellowship among the members.

Riverfest is Arkansas' largest and most popular music, arts and food festival. The event is held annually over Memorial Day weekend in Julius Breckling Riverfront Park & the vibrant River Market District in Little Rock and the North Shore Riverwalk in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Riverfest, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) private, non-profit corporation, that since 1978 has donated over $700,000 to the development of Julius Breckling Riverfront Park and the River Market District. The mission of Riverfest, Inc. is to produce a quality, recreational, cultural, educational, family-oriented celebration of the visual and performing arts for the benefit of the community.

Annual regional arts & crafts festival celebrating the huckleberry and the local community, with 90 vendors, food, entertainment, parade and Miss Huckleberry pageant. This is the 28th year of this event.

The Mission of the Arizona Classic Jazz Society is to perpetuate, promote and present the American art form known as jazz during the period in which the music was created and celebrated through such styles as Dixieland (Trad Jazz, Traditional Jazz, Classic Jazz, New Orleans Jazz) and Swing. Through the presentation of live performances, we support the artists and seek to inform, educate, entertain both listeners and dancers and involve persons of all ages, with a special emphasis on youth.

Annual event, always held the first weekend of October. Over 1,500 costumed reenactors and 250 tipis, tents and other shelters of the colonial period. We host over 5,000 grade school children who attend a choice of over 100 demonstrations and classes on colonial America and the fur trade. The Sundance Film Festival is a film festival that takes place annually in the state of Utah, in the United States.
It is the largest independent cinema festival in the U.S. Held in January in Park City, Salt Lake City, and Ogden, Utah, as well as the Sundance Resort, the festival is the premier showcase for new work from American and international independent filmmakers. The festival comprises competitive sections for American and international dramatic and documentary films, and a group of non-competitive showcase sections, including the Sundance Online Film Festival. A Main Street Rogers Event, The Frisco Festival derives its name from the Frisco Railroad, which by coming to Rogers in 1881, helped establish the development of the community of Rogers and its surrounding cities.

The Kentucky Derby is a Grade I stakes race for three-year-old thoroughbred horses, held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, on the first Saturday in May, capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival. The race is one and a quarter miles (2 km) at Churchill Downs. Colts and geldings carry 126 pounds and fillies 121 pounds. The race is known in the United States as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports" for its approximate duration, and is also called "The Run for the Roses" for the blanket of roses draped over the winner. It is the first leg of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing in the US and typically draws around 155,000 fans. Source

October - Norsk Høstfest, North America’s largest Scandinavian Festival, is celebrating its 29th year, starting the evening of October 10th-14th. Tens of thousands of people attend the event annually to celebrate and partake in the Scandinavian culture and entertainment.
Over 200 internationally recognized artisans, craftsmen and chefs participate. The experience is an eclectic array of contemporary and traditional. The cuisine as well as the clothes, art and jewelry are authentic, fine quality and exquisitely Nordic.

A traditionally beautiful spring along the banks of the Mississippi River in Historic Vicksburg! Blocks and block of river artisans, foods of the world and lively regional music of all kinds say "Welcome to Riverfest and the Red Carpet City of the South." Shop through wonderful shops, enjoy the newly renovated downtown, and take in the great sites and sounds that make Vicksburg a national attraction. Located on a 160 acre site with a Northwest Company Fur Post of 1798 constructed with blacksmith shop, company store, birch bark canoe, building shed, baking oven, root cellar, bourgeois quarters, gardens, and mile long nature trail. Participants from 11 states and Canada attend and compete in blackpowder shooting competitions and tomahawk and knife throwing competitions. RV and tent camping available for the public and a discount daily family pass available.

Looking to provide a service to golf by hosting a tournament, Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts decided to hold an annual event beginning in 1934. The final decision was made at a meeting in New York at the office of member W. Alton Jones. Roberts proposed the event be called the Masters Tournament, but Bobby Jones objected thinking it too presumptuous. The name Augusta National Invitation Tournament was adopted and the title was used for five years until 1939 when Jones relented and the name was officially changed. An early decision was whether Jones would play or serve as an official. Jones preferred not to compete but was persuaded by the Club's members to join the field. In the 12 Tournaments that Jones played, his best finish was 13th in 1934.
